Oriental and wool rugs are costly, yet beautiful. They deserve the best care possible when being cleaned. Rug manufacturers recommend cleaning your rugs at least once a year. A thorough cleaning of your rugs would not only protect your investment, but would also help maintain your health. Rug cleaning will remove most of the pollens, fungus, bacteria, and dust that might be affecting your health.
While the cleaning process might differ from rug to rug, our cleaning methods are gentle and customized to your specific rug. Our cleaning process includes:
Pre-Inspection
In this step we assess the cleanability and the cleaning procedure appropriate for each rug. We will let you know what to expect. We will examine the rug for any pre-existing damage from wear, moth or insect infestation, pet stains and odors, common stains, discoloration, and color instability. We also need to know the age of the rug and the previous cleaning history.
Rug Dusting
When a rug arrives at our facility, it is placed upside down, one side at a time, on a steel grid. Using a special machine, the rug is gently vibrated with over 40,000 harmonic vibrations per minute to remove the numerous allergens, bugs, dirt, grit, and sediments that have settled down to the rug’s backing through time. This process takes 45 minutes to 2 hours to accomplish.
Vacuum
Once the dusting procedure is completed, we vacuum both sides of the rug to pick up any residual sediment.
Pre-Spotting
Problem stains and odors are pre-treated with specialty solutions.
Shampoo
We apply a cleaning solution approved for oriental and wool rug cleaning.
Rinse
The rug is thoroughly rinsed with clean, clear water. No additives are used in our rinsing stage.
Fringe Cleaning
After the rug is rinsed, we carefully detail the fringes.
Drying
The rug is hung to dry on a drying rack.
Grooming
The cleaning process is completed when the rug is gently groomed to set the pile.

For a nominal fee, we can apply rug protector to keep your rugs looking great for longer.
